# Privacy Policy — SailPrep

SailPrep (“we”, “the app”) helps users prepare for sailing theory exams through study cards, quizzes, and optional on-device reminders.

## Who we are

## What the app does

SailPrep is an educational study app. It is **not** affiliated with Lietuvos buriuotojų sąjunga (LBS) or any certification authority. Official exam rules and materials from your training provider always apply.

## Data we collect

SailPrep does **not** require an account. We do **not** operate servers that store your study progress or personal profile.

The following information is stored **only on your device** (local storage):

- Region and language preference (e.g. Lithuania / International)
- Qualification level and selected study topics
- Favorite study cards and cards you have viewed
- Quiz practice scores
- Daily practice streak
- Notification and practice-reminder settings (times on/off)

We do **not** collect through normal use of the app:

- Your name or email address  
- Precise location  
- Contacts, photos, or files  
- Payment or banking information  

## Notifications

If you enable notifications, SailPrep schedules **local** reminders on your device. Reminder text comes from study content stored in the app. You can turn notifications off in **Reminders** settings inside the app or in your phone’s system settings.

## How we use information

On-device data is used only to:

- Show your study content and exam practice questions  
- Track your daily goal and weekly streak  
- Schedule reminders you choose  

We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

## Sharing

We do **not** sell your data. We do **not** share your on-device study data with third parties.

If you contact us by email, we receive only what you write in your message (e.g. support questions).

## Third-party services

- **Apple App Store / Google Play** may process information when you download or update the app, under their own privacy policies.  
- The app is built with [Expo](https://expo.dev); the **running app does not send your study data to us**.

We do not integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the current version of SailPrep.

## Retention and deletion

Data stays on your device until you:

- Delete the app, or  
- Clear app data in your device settings  

Uninstalling SailPrep removes locally stored study settings and progress.

## Security

Because data stays on your device, protecting your phone (passcode, biometrics, updates) is the main way to keep your information private.

## Children

The app is intended for users preparing for sailing qualifications. It is not directed at children under 13.

## Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
